Melissa Jefferson, a sophomore at Coastal Carolina, was second in the men's 100-meter dash semifinals in 10.96 seconds, along with finishing fourth in the 200-meter semifinals in 22.54 seconds at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Jefferson, the reigning Division 1 indoor 60-meter champion, also helped the Chanticleers qualify for the 4x100-meter relay final for the first time in program history in 43.23.
