Melissa Jefferson, a sophomore at Coastal Carolina, placed eighth in the women's 100-meter dash final in 11.24 seconds and contributed to an eighth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 43.78 seconds at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Jefferson, the Division 1 indoor 60-meter champion, also earned ninth in the 200-meter final in 22.90 seconds.
